Where Do I Begin?!

DeWayne Harvey

Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoyed your holidays as much as I did. I’m looking forward to an exciting new year, which will see the release of my new record, The Report of the Lord!

I wanted to share with all of you, an experience I had a few weeks ago. On the weekend of December 12, 2009, I flew from Tallahassee, FL to Los Angeles, CA to participate in Black Entertainment Television’s 10th Anniversary Celebration of Gospel, hosted by Steve Harvey. This was the most exciting tribute I have had the pleasure of being part of since my inception in the music industry.

Yes, I was in the presence of Steve Harvey, Stephen Hill (BET’s President of Programming), Donald Lawrence, Marvin Sapp, Donnie McClurkin, Shirley Caesar; the list is too long to mention everyone. These people stand out to me because of their many accomplishments and contributions to gospel music. And to think I was walking the red carpet right alongside all of them! Thank you to all of you who help keep gospel music alive!

So what was I doing at the BET Celebration of Gospel? I was there promoting the upcoming release of my new CD, The Report of the Lord. My publicist, Sandy Hill from Double XXPosure Media Relations, treated me like royalty. They managed to schedule 14 interviews in the two days I was there, which kept me more than busy. I interviewed with everyone from Radio One to Blogtalkradio to Extreme Praise to Coco Brother of BET’s “Life Every Voice.” I even met Lee Bailey, the legendary radio host.

With faith comes blessings and I am being blessed in a major way. As I’ve done press and radio interviews, I’ve been bombarded by phone calls from across the country. I enjoy conversing with my fans and I wish I could speak to all of them. So reach out to me, I’d love to hear from you. My door is always open.

Keep an eye on this blog for photos of me at the BET Awards, along with videos, mp3s, and personal messages from me.

God Bless,

DeWayne Harvey
